OBJECTIVES
  • The general objective of the Project is elaboration and homologation of microencapsulated fertilizers, with controlled release of active substance, in order to reduce the wastes and contaminants in culture plants and environmental protection, these fertilizing formulations having a superior degree of utilization by plants and doses of utilization much lower comparative to the classic granulated fertilizers.
  • The realization of new, modern and ecologic products, according to the European laws in the domain of fertilizers, with minimal costs.
  • Tests for biological evaluation of the new products, using as targets a series of plants that belong to large cultures, which are cultures with major impact in the agricol sector.
  • Realization of the experimental model - technologies for obtaining the elaborated products and demonstration of its functionality on a pilot plant built in the present Project.
  • Drawing up the documentation necessary and homologation of realized and pilot scale- verified products.

STAGES
OBJECTIVES REALIZED IN THE 1st STAGE/2007
  • Fundamentation of the strategy for obtaining, physical and chemical characterization, biological activity and domain of use for the proposed technological solution for microencapsulated mineral fertilizers. Establishment of the fertilizers formulations that will be microencapsulated in urea-aldehyde type structures.
  • Elaboration of methodology for microencapsulation of liquid fertilizers in hydrogel structures.
  • Fundamentation of the strategy for biological activity testing and the domain of use of the technological solution for microencapsulated mineral fertilizers
  • Fundamentation of the strategy for implementation on pilot scale of the elaborated technological solution

OBJECTIVES REALIZED IN THE 2nd STAGE/2008
  • Preparation of samples of liquid fertilizers for microencapsulation.
  • Microencapsulation of fertilizing compositions in urea/aldehyde capsules in order to test the biological activity.
  • Microencapsulation of fertilizing compositions in hydrogel structures in order to test the biological activity.
  • Preliminary experiments for comparative biological activity of samples elaborated by partners
  • Study for building a pilot plant in order to prepare samples of microencapsulated fertilizers necessary for field tests.

OBJECTIVES REALIZED IN THE 3rd STAGE/2009
  • Finishing the experiments of comparative biological activity for samples elaborated by partners;
  • Selection of formulations of microencapsulated fertilizers that presented viable results for their scaling up to pilot production and homologation; for elaboration of experimental model a number of 3 fertilizing formulations with slow release were selected;
  • Elaboration of experimental model - lab technologies for obtaining fertilizers and their microencapsulation in urea/aldehyde microstructures selected after preliminary tests;
  • Elaboration of experimental model - lab technologies for microencapsulation of fertilizers in hydrogel microstructures selected after preliminary tests.
